Welcome to the Run for my Mom page!
I will be running my very first race this year for my mom. Although she wasn't diagnosed specifically with breast cancer, I believe that all cancers need to be beat! In a matter of one week we found out my mother had cancer, and that it had spread throughout her body. My family and I have spent five weeks by her side 24 hours a day making sure she was never alone. I am running to beat this horrible disease, and to raise money for a cure. I may not be the best runner, but I will be giving it all I got with all my heart, just like my mom would have. Judy was the most selfless person I have ever met in my life and I am who I am today because of her. I am so happy my mom got to meet my two little girls before she became ill and developed a special bond with both of them. I only hope to be as good of a mother as she is. My mom passed away on August 25, 2016 from this terrible disease. Please donate to find a cure.
Cancer effects so many lives so I will also be running in memory of Ann Carkner who would have celebrated her 66th birthday on the day of the race-Oct 2, as well as Bev Miller who is a breast cancer survivor.
Please support my fundraising efforts for this year’s Canadian Breast Cancer FoundationCIBC Run for the Cure. By making a donation, you are joining a national movement in communities across Canada on Sunday, October 2.
