Welcome to Jordana Garbati's personal page
This September 30th, #WhiteCabanaWearsPink.
For the last few years, I have been running the 5K CIBC Run for the Cure in Kitchener-Waterloo. I'm thrilled to take part in the event again this year and raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research.
As many of you know, too many people in my family have already been through a multitude of cancer treatments in the last decade. Breast cancer, specifically, has caught three of my loved ones. In 2011, my aunt's life ended after she battled breast cancer fiercely. My cousin has been a breast cancer survivor for many years. A couple of years ago, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer, and she is now doing well after tests, surgeries, and radiation. We are so very grateful for the care she received at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto.
Each year, I receive news of friends, too, who have been diagnosed or who are continuing with challenging treatments. I run for these women, too. Each year I run, I keep a note in my pocket with all the names of the women in my life who have been fighting or who have lost their fight with breast cancer as well as all the people who have helped me reach my fundraising goals. You are with me. I am with you.
On September 30th, I'll be running 5K in Kitchener-Waterloo. I'll be wearing pink to show support for these women in my life. I'll be running for my friends and family members who have been affected by cancer. I'll be running to raise awareness. I'll be running to raise funds. Run with me. Walk with me. Tweet with me.
If you can support my fundraising efforts for this year’s #RunfortheCure, please make a donation.
